Q: Why should I test my alarm system?

A: It is important to test your system periodically to ensure it is working properly.  Over time, certain situations may arise that could interfere with the operation of your security system.  This could include damage to alarm wiring, telephone company changes, telephone line quality, DSL or Cable VOIP installation, or faulty equipment.
Q: How do I test my alarm system?

A: To test your alarm system, we recommend the following procedure.  Call the central station and tell them you would like to test your alarm.  They will ask for your name and/or your account number.  They will also ask for your password.  After you hang up, arm your alarm system and open a window or door.  When you hear the siren sounding turn off your alarm and call back the central station and ask if they received your test signal.  If they did, tell them to put the acount back online.  You can also test your 24 hour silent panic this way without arming the system and not hearing any siren.  If the central station did not detect your signals, call us immediately.  You can test your alarm as frequently as you wish.  At a minimum we recommend at least twice a year.
Q: My code on my Napco keypad doesn't seem to work?

A: Certain Napco keypads have a lockout feature built into them.  This means that if the wrong code is pressed, or if a key wasn't pressed hard enough, the system sees that as a wrong entry and will lock you out for 5 seconds.  This is a built in safety feature  to stop a would be thief from pressing  random numbers and possibly hitting the right code.  If this happens just stop and wait 5 seconds and try your code again, and it should work.  This is very common and a lot of people think that something is wrong with their keypad.
Q: How do I change my password with central station?

A: Just call us 516-295-5949.  Of course we will ask for your current password and a series of other questions, to be sure thats its you.
Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: Our normal business hours are Monday thru Saturday 8:30AM to 5:00PM.  We are available for emergency situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our central station can always be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays).
Q: How do I change the code on my keypad?

A: Changing the code on your keypad is simple, however there are so many different keypads.  The best thing to do is contact us, and we gladly guide you through the process.
