Consumers guide to obtaining a Nassau County Burglar Alarm permit
If your home or building is located in Nassau County, and served by the Nassau County Police Department, you need to have a current Burglar Alarm permit on file. To get the permit, you will need to give the police department some basic information. The information is supposed to assist the police in identifying the location of your home or business, to facilitate the job of the 911 operator, and precipitate the dispatching of a patrol car.
If your city or village is not served by the Nassau County Police Department, such as Hempstead, Glen Cove, Old Brookville, Freeport, Kings Point, Lynbrook, etc. then you do not need a Nassau County Police permit, but may still require a permit from your village. You can check with your local Police Department or Town Hall.
You can pick up permit applications at any Nassau County Police Precinct, Police Headquarters or contact us if you have an alarm installed by us.
After you receive your permit number, call us and give us the permit number. It is important that we maintain the permit number on file.
